Our cakes are all hand made from scratch in our home kitchen in Wargrave, Berkshire, using the highest quality ingredients. Our kitchen has been awarded a five star health and hygiene rating and we are fully insured and inspected.

All of our cakes are made of three layers of flavoured sponge with buttercream, chocolate ganache, jam or curd between each layer, encased in chocolate ganache or buttercream. We only ever use the best quality fresh ingredients: free range eggs and butter, high quality Belgian chocolate, and homemade jam made with fresh fruit.

COSTS

Each cake is priced individually and the cost will depend on the time and detail involved. As a guide, a small celebration cake starts from £45 and a three tier wedding cake serving 75 people starts from £210. Please just get in touch for a quote.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Payment

For wedding cakes a non refundable deposit of £100 is required to confirm your date and booking. The remainder of the balance is due 4 weeks prior to collection/delivery.

For all other cakes, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due two weeks before collection/delivery. For orders taken within two weeks of the required date, full payment is required on booking. Bookings are not confirmed until your deposit is received.

 

Delivery/Collection

Collection or delivery details will be discussed at the time of booking. We aim to deliver most wedding cakes on the morning of the wedding as part of the cost.

We deliver locally for free and can also offer a delivery service subject to availability and are able to deliver within a 50 mile radius for a flat fee of £15 plus 45p a mile.

If you are collecting your cake, it will be boxed and ready for transportation. The boot is the best place to place the cake for transportation so please ensure that you have adequate room. Please note that once collected, the full responsibility for the safety of the cake is with the client and Verity Rose Cakes is not liable for any damages thereafter. If your cake is being delivered, it will be delivered by Verity; we do not employ couriers.

Delivery terms and conditions

In the case of an unavoidable event, such as a car accident during delivery, Verity Rose Cakes cannot be held liable for more than the price of the cake ordered.

Verity Rose Cakes cannot be held responsible for anything that could happen to the cake once delivery is complete, such as outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat, insects etc.

Cancellation

Should you cancel your cake order more than 2 weeks before completion, please note that the deposit is non-refundable and any specially ordered items and work already undertaken is chargeable in addition.

Cake Storage

Once you have taken possession of your cake please keep it in its box until required and place on a flat surface.  Cakes should be kept in a cool room, away from direct sunlight and moisture until ready to display.
Do NOT put it in the fridge – This will cause moisture to attach to the icing and could ruin the decoration.
Your cake will be at its best for up to 3 days after your event, and left over cake should be stored in an airtight container.

Non-Edible Items

Please note that some cakes may contain non edible elements.  For instance, stacked cakes will have plastic dowels in to support the tiers.  These should be removed prior to consumption.  Any other non-edible elements will be noted and given to you (or in some cases, the venue) on delivery/collection.

Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements

All cakes contain allergens unless agreed otherwise specified. ALL cakes contain EGGS, MILK, GLUTEN & SOYBEANS. In addition: Cherry Bakewell and Carrot & Pecan flavours contain NUTS (almond, pecan). Boozy Fruit flavour contains SULPHITES. Cakes made without gluten, wheat , dairy and nut free cakes can be provided. However please note that cakes will have been prepared in an area where these ingredients have previously been used. Please be aware that very small amounts of alcohol are used in some decorating techniques – if this is a problem please make Verity aware on booking.
